The 1-m model preparation room, located in the hydraulics lab building, includes all the resources needed to construct centrifuge models for testing on the 1-m radius geotechnical (Schaevitz) centrifuge. These resources include multiple dynamic and static model containers, an overhead crane, soil pluviators, a small consolidation press, and a vacuum chamber. This smaller room typically supports only one team actively model building at a time, but the experiment throughput is high because a test can be performed in just a few days.
