The Electronics and Calibration Room (or clean shop) includes instrumentation calibration workstations, electronics fabrication workstations, and model fabrication workspaces. We maintain a large inventory of sensors as well as an array of ancillary testing equipment as listed elsewhere. Users typically check out sensors from the CGM inventory here and calibrate them prior to use.
Users also install and test project-specific instrumentation such as strain gauges on model structures; Here a graduate student from UCSD is installing strain gauges on complex nonlinear structural models in the Electronics and Calibration Room. The CGM maintains tools and resources to support this work.
