The 9-m model preparation room, located in the hydraulics lab building, houses all the resources required for constructing, instrumenting, and dissecting models for testing on the 9-m centrifuge. Users have available a small forklift, overhead crane, mobile data acquisition systems (DAQs), five different model containers, soil pluviators, a large consolidation press, clay mixing and transportation equipment, and filtered ventilation. The room is configured to allow two teams to operate in parallel from the model building through dissection stages.
